At Puddles & Pearls, we truly believe that family is EVERYTHING! As a child, I have fond memories sitting with my family and grandparents looking through old albums. We’d reminisce about when we were younger, and listen, absorbed in stories of our parents when they were kids. There is something about holding a photograph in your hands or seeing one displayed. It connects you emotionally to a time and place in a way screens can’t. It is a tangible link to your most cherished memories. Photos that document our life aren’t just for us. They are for our children, our grandchildren, and our great-grandchildren. Years from now when your children are flipping through photos with their children, what do you want those memories to look like? I am certain that the images they will cherish the most are the ones that have YOU in them!
Fill your home with images of what matters most- your family!
Here are a few design tips for displaying your family portraits in your home
Have at least one family photo in the house that is as big as or bigger than your TV
Wall art looks best as either one large piece, or several smaller pieces in a grouping
Your portraits should be at least 2/3 the length of the piece of furniture you are hanging it above
Don’t hang it too high. Portraits are best viewed at eye level.
When planning for the session, choose colors and styles that will compliment your home décor.
Consider a timeless look rather than trendy. You want to still love your portraits 20 years from now!
